Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain
This past weekend I was in Oklahoma for a family reunion in honour of my grandmother's 85th birthday. My mother is an American--she grew up in southern Illinois--and so I have a whole pile of relatives down there. Oklahoma was hot, really windy (REALLY windy), and the dirt was red like in PEI.
It was an excellent weekend: I saw a million relatives that I haven't seen since I was 10 (including my aunts--my favourite relatives--they are hilarious--I think I'm more like them than I am anyone in my immediate family--can I post video on here? I've got a funny video of them playing dominos), and I met a whole pile more too--wives and children and cousins once removed and things like that. A really good time. Check out all the photos here (more photos will be added early next week once the film gets developed).
The above photo is, of course, from the trip--my nephew Daniel dressed like a cowboy in the Cowboy Museum--yes, the Cowboy Museum, there really is one. My sisters plus brother-in-law Dave plus kids even went to a rodeo! Bucking broncos and everything! (I got to OK too late for that one.)
PS I took all those photos with my NEW digital camera! Oh so exciting! Just you wait, now I'll post random pictures here all the time.
